Willenhall based BEWO required CE marking support for their specialist tube cutting machines. Technical Services Manager David Picken contacted MAS-WM for help marking a manual sawing machine and was introduced to Specialist Manufacturing Advisor Peter Roach who assessed the situation before bringing in further expert help from MAS-WM associate the CE Marking Association.

The CE Marking Association bought BEWO together with other companies in a similar position into an intensive three-day workshop were they were given practical advice on CE marking and the issues surrounding it such as specialising and adapting the standard requirements. The work has put BEWO in the position of being able to sell eight units and David Picken enthused: "The workshops were very informative and pitched at the right level. This really has made an immediate impact to our business." MAS-WM Chief Executive David Wright added: "This project is a fine example of the breadth of knowledge that we can offer to manufacturers in the region and it's why almost 1000 manufacturers have already engaged in projects with us since September 2002."
