ANSA DOOR SYSTEMS CASE STUDY
The Project
Wordsley-based Ansa Door Systems is significantly improving its turnover and creating new jobs with the help of specialist business support from the West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence (WMCCE).
ANSA Door Systems Ltd is a market leader in the production of roller door control units. The control units are designed to operate with roller doors and shutters fitted
with reversible, asynchronous, 230V A.C. motors responding to a coded radio remote control feature for operation of doors via a transmitter. The company has recently
developed an innovative safety sensor system with European patents pending.
After contacting WMCCE, the company was put in touch with CE Marking Association which is managed by the Wemtech. The CE Marking Association was established under a national initiative by the DTI to transfer knowledge
in all aspects of the CE Directives and product legislation from Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC), to Low Voltage (LV). This applies to machinery experts and to companies in the manufacture, import or distribution of
electronic apparatus.
“The CE Marking Association's service was remarkably prompt, professional and friendly, they understood our requirements and devised a cost effective way for us the meet them. I would recommend them.”

The Result
As a result the company received guidance on product compliance within the relevant European Directives and associated Harmonised Standards. In a fully funded five day project Wemtech produced a report which
complimented the development of the company’s roller door control unit by securing its compliance with European standards.
Steven Pincher, Managing Director, ANSA Door Systems said: "We are extremely pleased with the assistance we have received. This project has helped us improve production
processes and increase profits. I would recommend WMCCE to other firms looking to improve their business." Phil Wilson Operations Director WMCCE said: "This project is a
good example of the breadth of knowledge that we can offer to the construction supply chain in the region. To date over 100 construction companies have already engaged in projects with us and we are looking to help more."
